What To Expect
Home inspections are our only business. We are impartial and work only for you. Our job is to provide you with a comprehensive, fair, independent and objective evaluation -- to give you the information you need to understand and protect your investment. All inspections are performed in accordance with the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice of The American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI).
Scheduling the Inspection
When you call us or schedule online you will get a price quote and set a date and time for your inspection that fits in with your schedule. We will then notify the seller’s realtor and get permission to perform the inspection. A typical inspection takes 3 to 5 hours, depending on the size of the home. After the inspection, you arrive at the house for a meeting at the scheduled time. At this meeting, you will review the report with the inspector. This is your opportunity to ask any questions you have. Your realtor will then assist you with any requests to the seller. Pictures, illustrations, and a summary page make our report easy to understand. Your inspection fee includes any follow up phone calls.
Inspection Overview
A home cannot fail an inspection. A professional home inspection gives you an independent, unbiased view of any problems and their solutions, so that you will have all the facts you need to make a sound, informed decision.
Depending on the size and condition of the home, a thorough home inspection will take between 3 to 5 hours, usually taking around 3. Ideally, you will accompany your inspector during the consultation, so that you will have visual reinforcement of your written report.
We take our inspection reports seriously. Every inspection is a complete and thorough analysis of all the major systems and components in the home. The report includes a clear description of what we've found with any problem areas noted, so you can easily identify them. Our inspectors also provide a free telephone consultation after your inspection.
Our inspection is very thorough and includes the following:
- Exterior
- Grounds
- Foundation
- Roof
- Attic & Garage
- Kitchen
- Bathrooms
- Plumbing & Fixtures
- Electrical Systems
- Heating & Cooling Systems
During the inspection, we pay special attention to what we have learned are the top ten problem areas in most homes.
